Plan Description

This home, part of the Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR program, achieves broader green goals through the use of sustainable materials. Beneath the gently pitched rooflines of this five-bedroom design you’ll find a rich blend of Prairie, Craftsman, and contemporary styles. A full suite of amenities completes the design. Outside, rustic wood beams—such as the slender porch supports and decorative roof brackets—and stone details establish naturalistic themes. The inside prefers clean, straightforward spaces, such as the combined dine-in kitchen and breakfast nook. On the other hand, the sweeping stairway at the front of the home makes a strong first impression. The gourmet kitchen, with information station and bar counter, is the center of the open floor plan. High windows and vaulted ceilings create a spacious, sunny feeling, especially with the living room and breakfast area both opening with French doors onto a generous covered porch. The family room features a three-sided fireplace, built-in entertainment shelves, and a huge wall of windows. Private spaces are more than comfortable.
